White glazed porcelain fountain. A god and a goddess holding an arrow in her hand – Diana and Mercury – sit on either side of a shell being carried by a bull. Above them is waterfall with rocailles surmounted by Cupid. The base imitates natural terrain. Johann Josef Niedermayer was the head modeller at the Viennese porcelain manufactory from 1747 until 1784.
